Since we were only a short distance to The Devil's Tower, we decided to visit this quite unusual site. I always remember the movie, Close Encounters of a Third Kind, in which Devil's Tower was featured. It was amazing to see it from so many different angles.
Look closely on the left side just under the tree branches, and you can see one of the climbers. Some people actually climb this thing. We saw quite a few that day. You'll never catch me up there.
We did walk completely around it which was only about 1.3 miles. Here we are only half way.
As we left, Bob wanted to take this picture which shows some of the red rock that is there.
