We have been working on our house in Sioux Center. It was built in the 40's and I bought it in 1985 and have never done much to the house. We have been working on it in phases, the clear out phase, the clean phase, and now the redecorate phase. We filled 6 dumpsters with stuff and got it hauled away. I had a garage sale and got rid of a lot. I gave a lot of stuff away for free. And we donated a lot of stuff to our local "Goodwill". Then I learned how to clean a house from ceiling to floor so it is clean now, but it still gets dirty again. I don't understand that. Now we are painting. We have ordered carpet for the entire house. I know the wood floors look nice and maybe we could have restored them, but we decided on carpet. We are also getting new vinyl flooring for the kitchen. We will also replace or cover the orange kitchen counter top some time. Then I bought some cheap blankets at Wal Mart and have put some of them up as curtains, a quick inexpensive fix for now.
