Reagan's Visit

Since Reagan had a volleyball camp in Orange City, we got to have her for a very nice, activity-filled visit.  We picked her up in Pomeroy, and from there, we drove to the Grotto of Redemption.  It is always very awe inspiring to visit there, and it was Reagan's first time to visit.  I think she really appreciated seeing this wonder.

Reagan was first to find the angel embedded in the rock.  Can  you see it?

This is a display of some of the rocks found in the Grotto, but it is under ultraviolet light to make them glow

There were swans there for me too.

I scream, you scream, we all scream for ice cream.

We went into the cathedral there.  It was beautiful.  Reagan felt right at home.

We discovered this old fashioned phone booth at the Grotto.

This is Reagan making a cell phone call to her dad inside the phone booth.  The past meets up with the present.

We ate at a very nice restaurant in Orange City, The Blue Mountain.  The upstairs is a private club, but you can pay a daily fee and go up.  It's like going to a museum and eating there.

Of course we had to take a convertible ride to Le Mars to the Wells Blue Bunny ice cream parlor.

Here's the volleyball star.  Watch out.  She's a contender.

Our last big event was going to Omaha to Boys Town where the Omaha Magic Club provided a "picnic" and magic show.  Bob taught Reagan some magic so she could go around and do magic tricks with the people there.  She also got to hang out with magicians.  She also helped out at our community meal in Sioux Center with a variety of tasks plus doing some magic for the kids there.  She has a good heart for helping others.  By the way, she's wearing a new outfit we bought when we went shopping at second hand stores.  We got some really good deals.  I got a swan soup tureen.

While Reagan was here, she noticed our  balancing parrot so she wanted one too.  So Bob cut out one for her, and every day she was here, she painted it.  It turned out really nice.

For the car ride from Omaha to Pomeroy, we got her a little art activity so she would have something fun to do.  It turned out quite nice.

We had a great time with Reagan.  We hope there will be many future visits.

Convertible Ride With Classic Friends

I was out shopping when I ran into a friend who invited us to hop into our 1988 Chrysler Le Baron Convertible and join them on a jaunt to a nearby town to show off classic cars.  I've read if you think  your car is a classic, it is.  So there is a nice variety.  I didn't get a picture of ours, but here are some examples of the cars that attended.

Visit Friends in Boone

I made a quick trip to Boone since my friend, Chris, was there to fix  up her rental condo there.  Also I went to visit our friend, Marilyn, who is having treatment for lymphoma.  She is doing quite well with it all.  She is a definite fighter.  She has played in the Boone Municipal Band for many years, and we took her to be in the audience this time.  But she played the next week.

Visit With the Weisses

Cari and Dave came up to Orange City to see Dave's parents, Ray and Dorothy.  They invited us to join them for dinner at a nice restaurant in Orange City.  Afterwards they treated us to some great dessert, and Bob entertained everyone with one of his tricks which everyone wanted to figure out.

The smug look of the trickster.

This is the laughter of frustration.

One of Dane's Ball Games

We didn't get to go to many games this year, but we were able to make the trip once to see Dane play.  He did a great job at bat and as pitcher.  Look at his great form.

Pretty good looking spectators:

Dane's brother, Brett

Brett and Dad, Curt.

Grandpa and Mom, Stacy.
