What We've Been Up To

I guess it's time to update the blog. It's been a while.

Unphotographed But Very Important:
1. We had a visit from Bob's daughter, Cari, right here in Sioux Center. Her in laws live in Orange City and her work brings her this way so occasionally she can visit and we can have cinnamon rolls/lunch at our wonderful Casey's Bakery.
2. We visited my cousin, Bill, who lives in CO. He was in Marne, IA attending the Triumph motorcycle dealers' Open House so we drove down to visit him.
3. On Labor Day, we had a surprise visit from the Cardonas who drove all the way up from Omaha. They got to drive/ride in the convertible and take a tour of Sioux Center. They missed out on eating at Chick Fil A in Sioux City so I took Chick Fil A sandwiches to them when I went down for their homecoming.

We attending the annual Art Splash in Sioux City. It was a beautiful day, with lots of neat things and really good entertainment. They hold the event in a park right on the Missouri River so it's beautiful there.

The new YMCA which was built on the Missouri River. When you exercise you have a great view.

People learning how to dance the salsa.

One beautiful Sunday we joined a classic car club on a trip to a nearby winery. It's a new winery just north of Sioux City. Anyway it was a great excuse to drive the convertible and to sample some tasty wine. It's almost like being in CA.

The rock road leading up to the winery.

On our way home we stopped in Le Mars for Blue Bunny ice cream. MMMMmmm. Good.

For Bob's birthday we went to the Clay County Fair which is in Spencer, IA. It is like a mini state fair. You can see the definite IA ambience.

This is where we ate. It's what you're supposed to do.
Pretty exhibits.
Pretty flowers.
One of my favorites.
Good entertainment.

While Bob painted the house, pictures later of that, I went down to Omaha for my great nephews', Nicholas's and Christian's, homecoming. Christian is a senior and was in the homecoming court. I don't have a lot of pictures of the game because Mitzi and Aly took such good pictures. They are posted on Facebook. But I took these pictures because I love their maroon and gold colors.

Logan liked them too.

The next morning Nicholas had a band contest which their school hosted. Busy day since the Homecoming dance was the same night.

Nicholas and his date. Aren't they cute?

And here is Christian with his "dates." Actually his girlfriend couldn't go, but Christian still went especially since he was on the Homecoming. Isn't he handsome? (the one in the middle.)

The whole group getting ready to go.
