Statue of Liberty and Ellis Island While Visiting My Sister, Nancy

We arrived at my sister's, Nancy's, apartment mid afternoon so we had plenty of time to find them and get our parking spot there which cost us a little money, but it was worth it to know our car with all its stuff was parked somewhere safe.

The first night we went to eat at a quaint restaurant within walking distance from their apt.

With Nancy as our tour guide, the next day we decided to go to Ellis Island and the Statue of Liberty. Eric had to work so he couldn't join us. We drove to a park on the New Jersey side and got tickets to go to both. It was a beautiful day. Here are some pictures to give you an idea of what it was like. Thank you, Nancy, for being such a good tour guide.

Waiting to get on the tour boat to the Ellis Island first and then to the Statue of Liberty.

Great views of Lower Manhattan.

This is the original light that the Statue of Liberty held. It is now inside the museum part of the statue.

View from the base of the statue. We weren't able to go any higher because you have to make reservations. It's free, but you have to make reservations.

That night we had a lovely dinner with some of Nancy's and Eric's friends at a very nice restaurant.
