Trip to Fredericksburg

About an hour's drive north of San Antonio is a very nice German community, Fredericksburg, with lots of winerys, unique shops, and restaurants, as well as a museum honoring a naval commander from WWII. Pat, Susie, Bob, and I drove there last Friday to enjoy the town and what it had to offer. One of our favorite shops was a food place with lots of samples of their salsas, jellies, peanut butters, dips, and fudge. It was the appetizer before lunch. Here are Pat and I tasting some of their delicious samples.

Then we stopped and ate lunch at this German restaurant. It made Pat feel like she was back in Germany.

Good German beer!!!!!

The outdoor restaurant was very welcomed. We sat on the very edge of it.

This was outside of an old hospital that has been converted to a winery and a very elaborate cooking accessories store.

One of the antique stores we visited. Nice stair case, huh?

At the end of the day we stopped to have something to drink and to enjoy the beautiful weather, as well as a live band.

Pat, enjoying her shrimp dinner and more German beer.

Bob not doing magic tricks, but he did them while we sat at our table.
