Next Visit - Brother Gary in Flagstaff, AZ

My brother, Gary, and my sister-in-law, Rosemary, live in Flagstaff which is a very nice place in AZ. We always enjoy visiting. They were finishing up some remodeling projects on their house so we got to see all that they've done. Gary has been posting the progress on their blog.

Since they are LDS members, they are very much into genealogy. After church, we went into their genealogy room at their church where they go to help people and support people who want to do research. Rosemary has done a lot of research and is in the process of writing a book about their families. It's all very impressive. While we were there she was contacted by a 7th cousin who is an aborigine bushman in Australia. They spoke on the phone for about an hour and a half and sent pictures back and forth on computers while they were on the phone. They are related by 2 sisters who were from England. One of them came to the US, and Rosemary descends from her, and the other sister went to Australia, and the new 7th cousin was descended from her. You never know who you'll find when you research your family.

Their granddaughter and my great niece, Amanda, was visiting while we were there. She had come for an orientation at NAU (Northern Arizona University) where she will be attending next fall. She graduated from high school with enough credits to possibly be classified a sophomore. Amazing!!!!!

Here she is relaxing in the genealogy room.
Relax time with the paper.
Since Amanda was planning to participate in a reenactment of a pioneer walk made by the Mormons, she had a project of making outfits for the event. It became a family project with Rosemary and myself helping out. Here we are working at it at different stages.

The final product. Doesn't she look great? But I'll bet she was really hot since it was in AZ, the hotter part.
To celebrate the finishing of the project, we played a game or hearts. To Bob's and Gary's chagrin, they tend to win, Rosemary and I were the winners. Yea!!!! It is fun to play games, but it's even more fun when you win.
