Gruene

After we returned from the coast we made a trip to Gruene, TX. Gruene is a German town with a General Store, quaint shops in older buildings that once were homes. There was also a couple of places for wine sampling. Mmm.

This is the old dance hall.

This is along the Guadalupe River. It had an unusual amount of water flowing which made for some pretty background for some pictures.

At one of the stores Susie bought some electric teeth which you put into your mouth and they light up your teeth. Pretty funny.

You can't really tell, but Susie's teeth are electric!!!!

We ate at a really neat restaurant called the Gristmill. It used to be a mill along the river. It is very unique and they have pretty good food. They even served us a complimentary strawberry shortcake for my birthday. That was so nice of them. I did share too.

Susie is part of a Librarian Drill Team that will be performing at the Library Conference later this week. She was showing us some of the routine. She's so talented.

Susie is learning how to shimmy (sp?) She's a good student.

Ahhhhh!. Mother, daughter love.

The Gristmill is in the background. We are satisfied customers.

Waving good-bye to Gruene.
