Last Day at the Coast Botanical Center

The last day at the coast was a beautiful day. We went to the Botanical Gardens where we first ate some delicious tamales for breakfast. We ate among the beautiful roses. Mmmmm good.

I think this is the yellow rose of Texas.

Beautiful.

Smelling the "Julia Child" rose. This picture is for my GROUP!!!!

This is the "Black Magic" rose. Bob had to smell that one.

Lounging on the cement sofa that was decorated with mosaic tiles. Cool, huh?

A lake out in the wetlands part of the gardens.
Hiking in the less wild part of the wetlands. In another section we came across a dead snake and a huge ant hill that blocked the path. We turned around.

Red Bluebonnets. Yes, they have red ones.

Pat's favorite, purple flowers.

We visited the butterfly garden.

A butterfly landed on Pat's back. Cute.

This is a flower that I've only seen in Paris when we visited there in 2007. Our host there had a flower just like this. Very unique.

We visited the orchid room. So many beautiful ones.

A beautiful bromeliad.

Nice pond.

Bird of Paradise. Strange but beautiful.
Here are some cute garden ideas for anyone who might be interested.
