Second Day at the Coast

The second day at the coast we drove to Aransas Pass and took this ferry across to Port Aransas. The ride doesn't take more than a few minutes, but we did see a dolphin.

At the beach it was cold and windy so instead of sunning ourselves, we walked the beach. Here are some people making a sand sculpture to get ready for the sand festival that was coming up for the weekend. We left before it started. I think this was going to be a dinosaur.

Then we watched this guy doing some kite surfing. Fun if you like that sort of thing.

For all the John Deere fans. Here they are using a John Deere tractor to clean up some of the washed up seaweed on the beach.

We watched several cargo ships go out from the bay into the gulf.

We walked on this jetty. Bob walked all the way to the end of it, but Pat and I decided not to.

While walking on the jetty, we spotted about 8 dolphins swimming around. We watched them for about an hour. I tried to get some good pictures, but I only got one. Pat got a good one.

Look closely.

This was the name of the beach where we walked.

We didn't have to worry about snow drifts here, but we did have to worry about the sand drifts.

After our beach experience we took the ferry back and drove back to Corpus Christi.
