Bob and I made plans to make a trip to Boone for two purposes, one to meet Rachel, Reagan, and Drew to go tubing out at the ski hill just west of Boone, and secondly to help celebrate my good friend's, Pat's, 70th birthday. Well the weather did not cooperate for Rachel and the kids so we had to abort those plans. But we had already made it to Boone to celebrate Pat's birthday so we did get to do that.
The first night we took Pat out for a birthday dinner.
The next morning we met her and Marilyn at the Bakery and had coffee and treats.
Marilyn shared her information about her next trip. Looks interesting.
Marilyn presented me with this nice gold glittery swan. Do I love swans. Yes.
The bakery used these for their salt and pepper shakers. I wanted to buy one, but they were not for sale.
Two of Pat's grandchildren, Kiana, and Nick.
Pat had bought a piano just like the one she already has but is on loan to Wayne's family. This was moving day. It fits just right there. Thanks to all the strong men who helped her move it, Wayne, Dave, Nick, Ben, and I think Bob helped a little.
Pat showing off her piano skills. She did great.
Kiana making fun of their family joke of sarcasm.
Pat's apron gift and other cooking paraphernalia.
Pat invited us to share her turkey dinner with her family since Rachel and the kids couldn't join us for winter fun. Thanks Pat for being such a great friend for so many years.
